A 10 hour video of just white noise has triggered automated copyright claims from several copyright owners who then profit from lending out their supposed intellectual property. Gizmodo comments: “ the absurdity of someone claiming ownership of a bunch of frequencies with equal intensity playing simultaneously—that’s all white noise is—clearly illustrates just how beyond broken YouTube’s automated copyright system really is.“
with all due respect if I found myself referencing children or trans people not as human beings with feelings and agency who are often not treated as such by many systems, but as a reason to attack anyone who disagrees with me on even the most trivial of topics, I think I would just walk into the nearest body of water and stay there during a thunderstorm in the hopes of having a near death experience as described in an Oliver Sacks essay that would radically change my brain chemistry
Idk why but villains with standards will always be the funniest thing to me. like you’ll get someone who will take absolute pleasure in doing the most vile things but paying their minions less than minimum wage? how dare you insult their honor. there’ll be a guy who just loves terrorizing people but if you say something sexist about his sidekick he’ll punch you in the throat and step aside with glee to let her pummel you. villains who are like “murder is fine generally but if you’re a homophobe then I’ll tie you to a boulder and catapult you into the ocean”. Idk there’s just something innately hilarious about a villain who is very definitively bad, like extremely morally reprehensible, but like there are just certain things that even they won’t stoop to, thereby implying that those who do are worse
It’s especially funny when their limits are bizarre or mundane, like villains who are OK with murder, but who draw the line at leaving a shopping cart in the middle of a parking space.
no, no the cart thing makes sense–
as we know from the Shopping Cart Theory, cart return is the ultimate test of self governance; If a villain is truly serious about villainry as a lifestyle, to the point that it is their guiding principal –arguably separating the True Villains from the Mere Pricks, then it follows that they must feel strongly about their god given right to be evil;
and therefore long to break free of the arbitrary limitations imposed on them by ‘society’ and 'authority’ to pursue their Truth and self-actualization as relentless antagonizers and eternal enemies of the people
so really the only credible choice for a true villain is not leaving carts in parking spaces.
